My Story
I learned early in life that pleasing others was the surest way to feel accepted. I spent decades trying to earn love—first from people, then from God—through striving, perfection, and control. Slowly, my True Self was buried beneath layers of expectation, religion, and fear until I could no longer hear her voice.
Though I looked strong and capable on the outside, inside I was unraveling—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Anxiety, people-pleasing, and self-neglect became my way of life. But through years of therapy, discovering God's unconditional love for me, and quiet time in nature, I began to return to who I was always meant to be. I discovered that the power to change was never “out there”—it was within me.
Today, I live from a place of peace, freedom, and wholeness. I am no longer performing to please but living true to who God created me to be. And that is the same journey I now help others take—the journey home to their True Selves.
The important stuff:
I’m a Jesus follower and my main goal is to follow God’s path for my life. I seek to know God, love Him, love myself, and love others. These are the things that are increasingly important to me. The more I grow into the person God created me to be, the more joy, peace, and love I have in my life.
The professional stuff:
As a writer, nature guide, and breathing coach, I have used my education to help myself and others live a better, more balanced life.
Writing education:
I have a B.A. in English/Creative Writing from the University of Minnesota. Additional education in writing includes: Christian Writer’s Guild creative writing certification; American Writers & Artists Institute copywriting and blogging certifications.
Nature connection guide:
I am a nature therapy guide through EcoNova Leaders International and a Minnesota Master Naturalist through the University of Minnesota.
Just breathe:
As a certified breathing coach I learned the power of breathing exercises to impact the nervous system and create a more calm state of being.
In my teaching/coaching, I use my education and research to help others reduce stress through three tools: journaling, nature connection, and breathing exercises.
The workbook, Be Me Bootcamp, uses all three tools and was created with love to guide seekers of wholehearted living on a journey of remembering and rediscovering their True Selves.
